We've been in Turkey!!

During the last week we were in Turkey, in the very nice city of Izmir, where our turkish friends made us spent an unforgettable week.
We visited wonderful places like Ephessus or Pammukkale, knew the turkish culture, tasted the local specialities... There are no words, it was really amazing, and we can't wait to meet our friends again, this time in Italy.

Turkish Chronicles VI: Bittersweet symphony

Final day, the bittersweet one. It started as any other, with a visit to a historical village and then a presentation about making a turkish dessert, but in the afternoon we went to Mall to buy souvenirs and had the farewell party. It was a party, yes, but it meant we were leaving soon.We for sure are going to miss our friends!

Turkish Chronicles V: Pamukkale!!!!

Fifth day was a traveling one, as we went to the Denizli Pamukkale travertines. The place was far far away, but without any doubt it's a “must be seen”. No words to describe it.

Turkish Chronicles IV: Dancing!!

The fourth day we had a bit of work at the school before visiting the mayor of the city, and then we had the main comenius event, as in the Gaziemir Atatürk Cultural Center we could enjoy a representative set of turkish folk dances (impressive). After that, we developed our own folk dances, every comenius partner one by one (we did our best).

Turkish Chronicles III: Discovering Izmir

This day was the one for us to discover Izmir. We visited the most relevant parts of the city and then went to the historical bazaar of Kemeraltı (with lots and lots of different kinds of shops), after what we saw the clock tower and took a ferry to Karsıyaka (again, first time for our students to travel by ship). The day finished with a short visit to the Izmir Sasali Wild Life Park (very big and with a great number of different species).

Turkish Chronicles II: Meeting the turkish life

This second day we had a little lesson about the turkish language (to be fluent enough to make the basic daily things), and then we went to the city of Ödemiş, where we could see a museum and a typical ancient mansion.

Turkish Chronicles I: A little bit of History

Today we went to the House of the Virgin Mary (a small but very interesting place), Selçuk, Şirince and the really really really marvelous historic city of Ephesus (and, luckily, our guide was a really good one, so we took good profit of all our trips). A remarkable way of beginning our stay in Turkey, indeed.
